South African President Ramaphosa, Chief Guest on Republic Day parade, lands in Delhi

New Delhi: South African President Cyril Ramaphosa arrived here on a two-day political visit.

It will be the state guest honor for the Republic Day Parade on Saturday.

“Special Event, special friend, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa received the first political appointment of the first woman and high-level delegation by Urban Development Minister Hardeep Singh Puri. He is theHonorable Guests for Republic Day Celebration for 70th, “MEA spokesman Raveesh Kumar tweeted.

“The visit is expected to further strengthen and enhance the close relationship between India and South Africa,”

On January 22, the MEA statement said here.

President of Nelson Mandela as the Chief Guest on Republic Day, Mr. Ramphosa is the second South African President.

President Ramnath Kovind will host a dinner for the President’s visit on Friday evening.

A bilateral meeting will be organized between President Ramaphosa and the Prime Minister on bilateral, regional and global issues of mutual interest.

Sources in the South Africa Business Forum will address Friday afternoon with the aim of increasing trade relations between President Ramaphosa and Prime Minister Modi.
